Mentorship is the heartbeat of Antora's ministry! This opportunity requires a commitment to a minimum of 4 sessions/month. Our mentorship season runs from April through mid-October (weather pending). The goal of the program is to build healthy relationships between mentors and participants, so consistency is key! This position does not require prior horsemanship experience, but does involve one 4-6 hour training, with potential for additional training as needed. Every mentor must submit to a background check and demonstrate an active relationship with Jesus.
Applying for an Internship at Antora is another unique way to get involved! We have both summer and 6-month internship opportunities available. Our goal is to disciple, encourage, and equip each intern to listen to Jesus and allow God to work in and through them. Interns will serve in various roles throughout the season, gaining hands-on experience in multiple aspects of ranch life. What sets interns apart from other volunteers is the unique opportunity to receive training and empowerment to lead sessions with children and minister to their families, as well as gaining an understanding of the ins and outs of ranch ministry.
Are you a teen interested in volunteering? Our Barn Brigade members are ages 13-18 and join staff at designated times to handle a variety of essential tasks like stall mucking, grooming, cleaning animal pens, moving horses, filling troughs, and maintaining tack, particularly in Antora's "off" season. The Brigade will have the opportunity to learn some equine body work and other skills associated with keeping Antora's horses happy and healthy! This role is supported by staff and adult volunteers to ensure a safe, productive experience.
Volunteer Partners are also valuable members of our team! If you are interested in serving with Antora but would prefer not to work directly with youth or take on a consistent commitment, then perhaps becoming a volunteer partner is for you! These members of our team bring unique gifts and abilities and are a very valuable asset to the ministry. Our Volunteer Partners are contacted when we have specific needs like plowing, construction or painting projects, community outreach, volunteer workdays, etc. They can also choose to volunteer consistently by taking shifts grooming or feeding the animals, weeding, spreading arena sand, general property upkeep, etc.
